The Academy was an Ancient Greek school, founded by Plato. This academy was a structure of education without hierarchy or a curriculum, where learning was based in a 'love of knowledge'. Questions posed and prompted by members of the society directed the avenue of investigation. This lead to an interdisciplinary nature, as lectures were given on topics from moral philosophy to astronomy. Aristotle was, unsurprisingly, once a student here.
